WeChat’s Auto Reply feature allows companies with official accounts to personalize their interactions with their followers. This can be a very useful and versatile tool for any company which has a lot of followers, and also for companies who would like to provide their audience with as much information about their core business as possible. A step-by-step guide to setting up the Automatic Reply feature on your WeChat public account.
Currently, the back-end of the platform is only available in Chinese language, but below we have translated the instructions and provided you with a simple step-by-step guide in English which shows you how to setup the Automatic Reply function on a Wechat Public account.
Go to the web address https://mp.weixin.qq.com and sign in to your WeChat public account with your username and password. Click here for a step-by-step on how to register Wechat accounts.
Once you have activated the Automatic Reply function, you can then begin to edit it. Go to the Auto Reply page by pressing the Auto Reply page button located on the left hand side menu. In the New Account Added Auto Reply box, add your welcome message and the instructions on how to enter the Auto Reply menu. For example, enter Send ” ? “ for the main menu & more information. This is the message people will see when they first follow your account.
Add the same or a similar message in the Messaging Auto Reply. Basically, when anyone types anything into your Official WeChat account other then the words you have defined in the Keywords Auto Reply they will receive this message.
Once you have setup your New Account and Default Auto Replies, you then need to setup the Keyword Auto Replies. Click on the Keywords Auto Reply button located in the middle of the site. Next,click on the green Add Rule button.
Add the Rule Name when you want to let people know the services your company offers. As an example, we’ve created a rule called Services. Next, you need to add the keyword. As an example, we’ve choose the number 3 for our menu system, but can you can easily choose the word Services or both. Next, add the text that you would like to share when the keyword is added. In the example below, our company has more that one service that we offer to our clients, so the text is another menu system with another set of keywords.
